The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo

In 1959 President Gamal Abdel Nasser inaugurated the Nile Hotel, previously known as the Nile Hilton Hotel. Ideally settled in the heart of Cairo, overlooking the River Nile, neighbor to the Egyptian Museum, the National Party and the Arab League headquarter. The Hotel was the venue that welcomed many Hollywood stars, political and business leaders.

After 50 years under the management of Hilton International Co., the management of Misr Hotels co., the owning company of the hotel, believed in giving the opportunity to one of the largest hotel management companies in the world, The Ritz-Carlton, which will launch its activities  after the complete development and renovation of the hotel and the addition of a conference room matching the latest technologies, as well as an underground parking place with a capacity for 280 cars.

A summary of the new management contract with The Ritz-Carlton Company:
The contract between Misr Company for Hotels and Ritz-Carlton Company was signed on 8/12/2008

 

 

The Management share 8% of the total operating profit and 2% of the total revenues

The Owner share 92% of the total operating profit after deducting management fees and with a guaranteed minimum $ 29 million US to the company annually

Duration of contract Twenty years starting from the date of the hotel inauguration after the completion of the comprehensive development work which is expected to be completed in 2015

The objective of the development work

•  To maintain the company's most important assets (The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo)
•  To maintain all construction and service elements to operate efficiently
•  To double the life span of the hotel building
•  To achieve the maximum investment return 

Components of the project: 
• The construction area of the hotel (the built-up area) equals approximately 64 thousand square meters.
• The project includes the development of the current main building, which consists of 331 hotel rooms and suites that include (118) double room and        (163) single room and (50) suites distributed in the hotel floors.
•  Conferences and banquet room through an area of 1770 meters and with the capacity of the (1500) persons and directly linked to the building of the Arab League.
•  A large pool of 860 m2 and surrounded by hotel rooms (cabins), each cabin area is 40 m2.
•  A Garage underneath the hotel to accommodate 280 cars.
•  International Health Club (SPA) run by ESPA English company, which is one of the major international companies.
•  A casino runs by Gianting Egypt company.
•  Fitness and training Center and sports machines.
•  A wide range of halls, cafeterias and restaurants up to (11) restaurants have been created to provide various food, beverages and general as well as common areas distributed in all the floors of the hotel.
•  Alf Laila We Laila ballroom has been renovated
•  6 meeting and conference rooms with the space of each between 110 m to 400 m.
•  Safety and fire-fighting and standards have been modified to include the addition of new sprinklers and alarm devices in separate locations in addition to smoke and toxic gases detectors and doors holders during fire.
•  The hotel protection specifications were modified by adding new metal fence at full perimeter of the hotel, surveillance cameras, equipment for cars, metal detector machine and X-Ray machine.
